Art for Benefit: Create, Inspire and Empower

I believe that if one can hold a pencil to write, they must be capable of drawing as well. Holding a brush does not require a different muscle activity. The output of an artwork depends on creativity, not on dexterity. Any creative field is subjective; not everyone will like everything. If one is open to different perspectives, they will not get bothered with the pressure of creating a masterpiece according to others. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Artistic expression in any form should give pleasure to the artist mainly as it is no small feat than meditation. It helps us build concentration and teaches us patience for sure.

I am not an artist by any particular skill, but there is a burning passion in my heart to simply learn whatever comes my way. I don't have any goal to create a masterpiece for a museum. All I care for is a positive impact from my actions. During the summer of 2020 and 2021, Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation conducted the IndiArt program. Each week, different art specialists introduced their art form through zoom workshops for a minimal fee. Proceeds were purely for fundraising for Ekal schools in remote parts of India. My artworks may not be masterpieces, but I must admit these were fabulous workshops for artistic meditation as well as getting exposure to multiple methods of artistic expressions. While I learned different mediums and had fun, someone got funded for his or her education. Knowing that my little action had an impact gave me immense satisfaction.

"Create, inspire and empower" was the motto of the IndiArt program. Here are some of my artworks, hopefully you get inspired too. Visit ekal.org to know about their empowering programs offered to create an impact.
